Role: Lead Space Designer
Firm: Aolab
Project Type: Concept Retail & Immersive Brand Experience
Project Narrative
Star Chasing Hall is a flagship retail environment dedicated to Kpop culture and fan engagement. As the Lead Space Designer, I was responsible for the end-to-end spatial strategy, translating the ethereal “Starlight” brand concept into a high-functioning retail interior. I utilized Rhino to engineer the entire 3D environment, ensuring a seamless transition from complex digital models to the final built space.
Technical Execution & Impact
- • Immersive Retail Circulation: Developed a strategic “path of discovery” for the 3D environment. I designed the pedestrian flow to guide visitors through distinct thematic zones—including the “Dream Kiosk” and the “Starlight Aid Car”—optimizing both the customer experience and merchandising visibility.
- • Custom Modular Shelving Systems: Engineered the entire suite of retail fixtures, including high-capacity wall-mounted units and freestanding floor gondolas. Each unit was designed with a focus on modularity and brand-specific aesthetics, balancing technical load requirements with a minimalist, “star-inspired” visual language.
- • Complex 3D Modeling (Rhino): Executed the full spatial design within Rhino, managing precise tolerances for the custom-built shelving and architectural partitions. The final build achieved a near-identical match to the 3D technical intent, demonstrating high-level accuracy in spatial proportions.
- • Zonal Programming: Conceptualized and executed the technical layout for the “Starlight Should Aid Car” (a social hub) and the “Dream Kiosk” (an interactive story zone), creating a hybrid space that functions as both a high-volume retail store and a community gathering place.
